Funeral pre-planning

An enjoyable and cost effective way of planning your own funeral, so you can let your loved ones know what you would like. Danu will lead you through all the options and help you complete our Funeral Wishes booklet. You can then feel comfortable knowing you have considered all the possibilities and have communicated this in a lovely way. Your funeral wishes booklet can then be lodged with your will or given to a person of you choice or kept in a special place. While your wishes are not legally binding to those you leave behind, it does give them a clear picture of what you would like and practicalities permitting most of us are happy and relieved to know your wishes at this time. Knowing some-one’s wishes can make all the difference on the day.

The planning process is simple, enjoyable and even fun! The process can be delivered face to face, by phone or even on Skype!

Call Danu today for more information and to book an appointment.

Best Wishes to everyone for 2013!

Sennen beach was the perfect setting the the marriage of Scott & Louise, with Porthcurno being Louise’s home stamping ground although the couple now live in Sydney, Australia. It was a fabulous day with guests picked up by a vintage bus courtesy of King Harry Ferries. They were driven in style to Sennen for the ceremony, then on to the family house for refreshments, then to the Gurnard’s Head for more refreshments! and then finally back to Penzance for the evening celebration at the Jubilee Pool cafe. The weather behaved itself – just – for the ceremony, although at one point when I was reading a poem about the couple always looking for the sunshine on a rainy day, the heavens opened, albeit briefly! Just goes to show if you stick to your timetable the gods will try to accommodate (the proceedings ran a little behind schedule!) It did rain more as the day went on so the bus was a real treat and we needed wellies by the evening. But it didn’t spoil the party.

What a lovely couple. It was a pleasure to deliver the ceremony for them and meet all their friends and family. We wish them all the very best and hope to see them and family again.

Last Saturday saw the wedding of Steve and Libby at the Yew Tree Gallery, West Penwith followed by an hours stroll over the moors and then gorgeous canapes and meal at the Gurnard’s Head. Luckily after all the winds the weather was still and dry but the theme of posh frocks and wellies meant we were well footed for our walk up to Watchcroft. People had come from as far as Australia for this day and it was a privilege once again to affirm family, friends, caring and above all love. Being loved for exactly who you are. The ceremony very much reflected this. It was simple, humorous, and poignant. Steve and Libby had chosen to have me playing the Native American flute to open and then bubbles instead of confetti as they re-entered the world as husband and wife. It was a wonderful day and an honor to be their celebrant. Thank you Steve and Libby and all their guests.

September has seen the naming ceremonies of Theodora Esther and siblings Farrah Kennedy and Reuben Alexander. Both have been joyous occasions for everyone involved with families and friends travelling far and wide making the effort for their expanding tribe. Both ceremonies involved traditional and modern aspects ranging from water blessings to bindis, face glitter, garlands and bubble blowing. Not forgetting some beautiful singing of a specially composed chanting of the children’s names. This is a unique and important part of the naming ceremony which they took in with great attentiveness.

It is always a privilege to share in and sing for the miracle of new life, these beautiful, unique individuals who take us into the future by reminding us to stay in the present – and play!

Welcome to our new website. Heartsong Ceremonies is now officially here! Offering the very best of support, design and delivery for all your ceremonial needs. I feel it is always an honor to work with people at the most important times of their lives and as a performer I wish to take my voice and musical skills into service for the community rather than solely pursue a performance career. I am happy in both settings and hope to raise awareness of appreciation of life in all its stages. In these changing and challenging times more opportunities to connect and become more heart centred are needed and that is the aim of Heartsong ceremonies. Please do give us your comments and I look forward to singing and ‘celebranting’ for you!
